FAI Cup could still have dream decider after semi-final draw

Dundalk and Cork City were kept apart this morning.

THE TOP TWO in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division can still meet in the FAI Cup final after Cork and Dundalk were kept apart in this morning’s semi-final draw.

League leaders Dundalk will host one of manager Stephen Kenny’s former clubs, Longford Town, after the Lilywhites brushed past Sligo on Friday while their opponents got the better of Sheriff in the quarter-finals.

If they overcome a replay with Derry City tonight, second placed Cork will travel to the Carlisle Grounds to face Bray Wanderers in the other semi-final.

Both games will take place on Sunday, 4 October.
